OCPC uses a Trimble GeoXT for field data collection. This mobile GIS/GPS can collect point data at sub-meter accuracy, and can be edited in the field using ArcPad or brought back to the office and processed on ArcGIS. OCPC plans to use the Trimble GeoXT in a Roadway Drainage and Runoff Inventory project, as well as in corridor study drive time analysis. Resources that can be mapped using the GeoXT include:
- Survey Points
- Substations
- Street Lights
- Traffic Signals
- Hydrants
- Sidewalks
- Road Signage
- Bus Stops and Shelters
- Substations
This list is far from complete. Please contact OCPC for ideas on using the Trimble GeoXT to collect data in your community.
