Title VI and Limited English Proficiency

As part of Brockton Area Transit Authority's (BAT) commitment to Civil Rights, it regularly submits a report detailing its adherence to Title VI, which is a law that is a part of the 1964 Civi Rights Act. This report details BAT's commitment to the law by demonstrating it is providing public transit service without discrimination. Accompanying the Title VI report is BAT's Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Plan. The LEP plan demonstrates BAT's commitment to ensuring individuals that might have limited English proficiency are able to use BAT service through the translation of key transit agency documents and notices.

BAT has released its 2020 Title VI Report & LEP Plan for public review and comment. The feedback you provide BAT on these two documents will help improve the report which will be submitted to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). The document can be downloaded for review and the presentation viewable below that can tell you more. Comments can be submitted by phone or email. Public comments period ends June 21st.
